While they were at the theater last night, we went for a walk with the other kids. Bobo grilled Mr. Brown for the answer to why the earth is round, and then moved on to what is the Big Bang and why do stars form in nebulas. It was fun to hear his curiosity and his focus on the information that Mr. Brown was giving him. Rosebud was anxious about being out in the dark and held her parents' hands tightly for the whole walk.
About eleven pm, Rosebud woke up with nightmares and I put her to bed on the floor of our room. As I was getting ready for bed, she came into the bathroom and said, "Mama, I feel like I need something to cuddle. Luke maybe a pillow or something." I said, "We can walk down to your room and find Sunny Bear or Pink Llama or your kitty pillow...does that sound good?" She shook her head and I squatted down next to her and asked, "What would you like to cuddle?" She said, "Um, maybe one of my parents?" and I scooped her up for a good long hug and cuddle. She ended up going to sleep in bed with us that night.
