Tonight at Family Home Evening, Bobo was asked how the knowledge that he was a child of God affected his daily life.  He said, "It means that I need to take care of my body, because when I'm resurrected I want to be..." He paused and thought.  Mr. Brown and I made a few suggestions.  "No, no," he said, and finished the sentence, "...at the zenith of my physical health."  That is a fifty cent word for a third grader!

I have a cat box that has secret hidden openings.  It was a gift from my parents a couple years ago.  Bobo suggested that I hide candy in it for him to find sometimes, so I got a bag of M&Ms and I put one in sometimes.  Both Bobo and Rosebud loved this game.  One day I decided to put in two M&Ms, thinking that whoever found it would have a bonus candy.  Bobo was the one who went in to check, but instead of being happy for himself, he immediately went looking for Rosebud in order to share the extra M&M with her.  I was so touched by his unthinking generosity that I put two M&Ms in every time now, and the one that finds it unfailingly shares with the other.  Even when one of them is away, the second one is carefully set aside and saved for him/her.

Busy day today.  Saturday chores in the morning, and then we went to get donuts (reward system for the timely completion of chores).  Then Mr. Brown and I made jam because that's what Bobo wants to give his teachers for an end-of-school thank you gift.  Then we went to see Rose Pink's play (matinee performance) --- oops forgot about lunch, kids were very hungry!  Rosebud and I just had time to run to the store to get a birthday gift and then go to a birthday party that started at four pm, and then got home at seven, and Mr. Brown and I had a video call with some old friends scheduled for 7:30.  While we enjoyed visiting with them, we were already tired when it started.  Then Rose Pink called after the evening performance finished, and wanted to go to dinner with the theater crew as a closeout for the season, so Mr. Brown has gone to take her to that and so he will be out until very late tonight waiting for her there.  I am really looking forward to a day of rest tomorrow.

Rosebud lost her first tooth!  She was very proud of the gap in her mouth.  She carried her tooth around in an Altoids box, and made a label for it that says, "Missing Tooth Box".

Two weeks later, she lost the second one!

This is the earliest that teeth have been lost at our house - the other kids were all 6 or 7 when their teeth started to fall out.  It's added a funny little half-lisp to her voice when she talks, which is adorable.

Rosebud, eating a snack of apple slices, made a face out of them on her plate.

Rose Pink went to prom tonight!

He invited her three weeks ago, and it's been a bit of a scramble to get everything together.  We were fortunate enough to find a lovely dress at the thrift store, and she picked out super cute sparkly shoes and jewelry to go with it.  The dress fit like a dream - we only had to get it taken up a bit, no other alterations.  Oh - she wanted a pocket in it for her cell phone.  A friend in the ward did her hair and makeup, and she looked so grownup and elegant when she came downstairs.  So beautiful.

A very old drawing - I think by Rose Pink, who also made the frame for it.  Bobo had it stored in his treasure box and was ready to throw it away.  I saved it because it's been around for so long.
