It's been hot for several days and the cold front with associated thunderstorms was scheduled to come through this evening.  After dinner the kids and I were getting ready to ride up to Sonic for slushes, and it sure did look like rain.  We discussed and decided to go anyway.  We made it to Sonic and ordered our slushes, and then watched the front come through - the sky turned black, and there was this tremendous wind and pounding rain.  Fortunately Sonic had a portico that we hung out under, so we didn't get terribly wet.  It passed after about twenty minutes, and we rode home in a very light drizzle (and in the dark).  It was all very exciting.  Nut Brown thought in the end that the slush was not worth getting wet for, but Rose Pink thought that it was just fine.  Bobo was nervous about the storm but was very brave on my lap.
