Sometimes we have mac'n'cheese for dinner. But sometimes we have fabulous meals that require chopsticks! Last night for dinner Mr. Brown made spinach and sesame salad, a sweet Japanese omelet, and sticky rice. He also got out some kim chee and opened a tin of kippers (no kidding). We sat on the living room floor (one more nice thing about having a card table for the dining room table: it can be lowered) and ate out of our rice bowls with chopsticks (even Nut Brown) while helping ourselves from the accent foods in the middle. It was so fun and adventurous and I loved watching the kids use their chopsticks and enjoy the food. The spinach salad was not a hit with them but Mr. Brown & I loved it. Nut Brown, surprisingly, loved the kippers.
